Despite the cold weather, we had a wonderful blue sky, no rain or snow, and no strong winds, as we celebrated Easter together with several other churches in Dartford. Alistair introduced the morning, we had musicians from the Net Church, readings and prayers from leaders of other churches (Christ Church, Salvation Army, Highfield Road Baptist, Wilmington Christian Fellowship), Paul Winchester brought a short Easter Message, and the choir from Holy Trinity sang a piece from Stainer’s Crucifixion.
There must have been about 200 people present including the Mayor of Dartford and our Member of Parliament. After the service we went across the road to the Vineyard Church where they provided us all with coffee and hot cross buns. It was good to remember Jesus together with fellow Christians from so many different backgrounds, acknowledging that although we may express things in different ways, we share this wonderful common ground of being loved by Jesus and wanting to express our love and appreciation to him.
