A Taste of Africa
On Saturday 23rd February we had our Taste of Africa evening where our African families cooked some very tasty African food for us. We had a full house with about 150+ people attending. Some African musicians played background music throughout the evening; we had a fashion show of African costumes;
some African drumming from the Reilly brothers;
and by the end, many were up and dancing!
Al also gave a brief talk about how it has always been on God’s heart to show his love and acceptance to people from all different nations and cultures and how it is honouring to God when the church reflects this in a world where there is so much prejudice and discord. He then read from 1 Corinthians 12:12-27, but instead of the different body parts mentioned, he substituted them with different nations.
It was a most enjoyable evening for everyone and we owe a huge THANK YOU to all who worked so hard to make it such a success.
