Our foundational values…

  • We believe that the Bible is the Word of God and we accept it as our final authority.
  • We place a high value on the grace of God – i.e. that there was nothing about us that deserved his love, but God loved us, was merciful to us and saved us.
  • We believe that the gospel is relevant to every area of our lives.
  • We recognise that God has given us leaders to lead and guide us and we freely choose to receive their leadership and follow them.
  • We believe that the Bible defines the church as a body of people who are devoted to God and also to one another.
  • As such we believe that our purpose here is to worship God, to love one another, and to make God’s love known to our community.
  • We believe that church members should seek to be as actively involved in the life of the church as possible, on Sundays, midweek, and by being supportive and caring for one another in general.
  • We understand that it is not always possible for everyone to be at every meeting, but we do expect everyone to be in contact with others in the church in some way and to let us know if there are reasons they cannot be around. One-anothering can only be effective if people are aware of one another’s needs.
  • We want to encourage a culture where no one is afraid to ask for prayer or practical help. We believe that membership is not about ‘names on a list’ but is about relationship and involvement – without this it has no meaning.
